Dog Walking Service in Hailsham

Professional Dog Walker in Hailsham

More Than Just a Walk

Our group walks are designed to meet your dog’s natural needs — not just their step count. We focus on calm, balanced group experiences that support confidence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing, while still being fun, engaging, and fulfilling.

Our walks are:

  • Small, carefully matched groups that build confidence and encourage positive social behaviour
  • Regular off-lead time in safe, beautiful woodland environments
  • Plenty of sniffing, exploring, and play
  • Natural socialisation and habituation through consistent, well-managed group walks
  • Opportunities to chase, explore, and practise natural instincts
  • Structured but relaxed walks that reduce boredom, frustration, and anxiety

By understanding how dogs learn, play, and interact with their environment, we create walks that balance fun, freedom, and structure — the same thoughtful approach that underpins our dog training — helping dogs come home relaxed, fulfilled, and proudly tired, with waggy tails to prove it.

Kind Words From Happy Humans

  • Sami is so amazing with the dogs she walks. Nova been with Sami since April 2021 and is growing in confidence with other dogs, after lockdown she found it hard being around dogs and people, as we had to shield, so our routine was changed. Sami plays games encourage dogs, so lots of fun on walks, and bonus, they come home happy and tired.

  • We couldn’t be happier with the excellent service they provide for us and Freddie. Always friendly, always on time and willing to do extra walks if required. Freddie is always excited to see Sammi and comes back from a huge variety of walks, tired but very very happy. They obviously care about and know the dogs they look after individually, and we are very lucky to have found them. We can’t rate them highly enough.

  • Bark and Stride are just the best! Sammy has been looking after our Dog since he was tiny and is so reliable and has never let us down. Our dog loves nothing more than going out with her and waits every morning by the gate! He gets lovely long runs with the other dogs, and we can relax knowing he is happy and cared for. I can’t recommend Bark and Stride enough.

We keep our walks small and carefully managed, with a maximum of six dogs per group. Dogs are thoughtfully matched based on temperament and energy levels to ensure calm, safe, and enjoyable walks.

For safety and security, we don’t share exact walking locations publicly; however, we walk in a variety of locations in and around Hailsham and the surrounding areas, including woodlands, fields, countryside paths, and on the South Downs, offering plenty of variety and enrichment.

Yes, many dogs benefit from our calm, structured approach. Suitability is discussed during the meet and greet, where we consider confidence levels and social comfort to ensure each dog is placed in an environment where they can feel relaxed and supported.

Puppies are welcome once they’re ready, but early training and socialisation are often more appropriate to begin with. Bark & Stride offers calm, age-appropriate puppy training to help young dogs build confidence before progressing to group walks.

Yes, we walk in most weather conditions, as dogs benefit from consistency and routine. That said, we always use common sense. Walks may be adapted, shortened, or adjusted in cases of extreme heat, storms, or unsafe conditions to ensure your dog’s comfort and wellbeing comes first.

Yes — where it’s safe and appropriate. Dogs enjoy regular off-lead time in secure woodland environments, allowing them to explore, sniff, and interact naturally with dogs they’re comfortable around. Safety, recall ability, and group dynamics are always considered.
